TESTIMONIALS

GET TO KNOW CARAÍVA

A small village carved out of a narrow peninsula beside an Indian reservation about 60 km south of Porto Seguro. This is a simplistic description of Vila de Caraíva, Bahia. But behind this simplicity is one of the most exuberant beaches on the Brazilian coast.

THE ARRIVAL

For those coming from Porto Seguro, Arraial d'Ajuda or Trancoso, visitors leave their car or transfer on the riverbank and cross in canoes guided by natives. The unique sensation is of arriving in a paradise island...

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

At the inn, we use clear and odorless water from an artesian well 100 meters deep, filtered and chlorinated, free of organic matter residues from the village's mangroves, which contain a bad smell and often stain fabrics due to its high iron and manganese content.

PURE NATURE

There is no street lighting in Caraíva – only in homes and local businesses. This simple fact creates an atmosphere totally peculiar to the village, providing a spectacle on its own on nights with a full moon and also on moonless nights, where a spectacular starry sky comes to life... During the day and nature's exuberance is also not left behind; its sandy streets full of coconut trees, cashew trees and native plants give their show apart, with all their characteristic charm.

NIGHLIFE

The tradition in Caraíva is forró. During the seasons, weekends and long holidays, the main houses alternate every night, with Pé de Serra forró for couples to dance together until the sun comes up. But there are also other options, such as live sounds, sambas, breweries, cachaçarias and luais on the beachfront.

GASTRONOMY

Caraíva has good restaurants and very diversified menus, which can range from pizza, pasta, seafood, oriental cuisine, grilled, regional, among others; besides the traditional sunset at Boteco do Pará, curiously called Ponto dos Liars.

PRESERVE

In Caraíva you have the opportunity to connect with nature in an increasingly rare way these days. Unplug yourself from technology, walk with your foot in the sand, bathe in the river. Admire the sky at night and the sea by day. Enjoy a lot and interact with the people and the exuberant nature around you!
